Wybudowany w 1989 r. pomnik ku czci bohaterow powstania warszawskiego zlokalizowany na wschodniej stronie Placu Krasinskich. Pomnik tworza postacie powstancow. Czesc z nich wchodzi do kanalu (nawiazanie do ewakuacji Starowki), a czesc spod wielkiego pylonu.
Lao Che "Stare Miasto" z plyty "Powstanie Warszawskie"
"Stare Miasto, Stare Miasto,
Wiernie Ciebie bedziem strzec,
Mamy rozkaz Cie utrzymac,
Albo w gruzach twoich lec:
(...)
Jest 100 tysiecy dusz,
A jedna ledwie rura,
Zolnierze wychodza,
Cywilom i rannym sie nie uda.
Jest jeden wielblad,
Do jednej igly ucha,
Nieliczni zbawieni,
Licznych Bog nie slucha!!!! "

Built in 1989, a monument dedicated to Heroes of the Warsaw Uprising is located on the eastern side of Krasinski Square. Monument shows characters insurgents: some of them enters the channel (a reference to the evacuation of the Old Town), and some from the great pylon. In the back, on the wall, you may find a plaque commemorating pilots engaged in discharges with the help of the fighting Warsaw.
Building behind the monument is the Supreme Court Building of the Polish Republic. Across Miodowa street you can see the palace Krasienskich, "behind" Field Cathedral of the Polish Army, the former Piarist Church, whose history dates back to 1642.
I can not resist and did not suggest the musical background for this cache:
Lao Che "Stare Miasto" from LP "Powstanie Warszawskie"
"Old Town, Old Town,
We shall keep you faithfully,
We will keep you ordered,
Or, in the ruins of yours fail:
(...)
There are 100 thousand souls,
And barely a one pipe,
The soldiers leave,
Civilians and wounded will not...
There is one camel,
To one needle's ear,
A few saved,
God does not listen to the rest!!! "
