Saint Julien, soldat français dans l'armée romaine a été martyrisé par les romains à cause de sa conversion au christianisme. Il a été pris dans la forêt de Drouille, commne de Dontreix, et brûlé à Brioude (63). Chaque année, fin août, une procession part du bourg pour rejoindre ses rochers dans la forêt. Sa statue ayant été vandalisée, la mairie a demandé à Hal Wilson , installé dans la commune, de créer une statue en acier, indestructible. Hal Wilson est l'artiste qui a créé le mémorial célébrant la Résistance française,installé dans la commune des Ancizes (63) Saint Julien est le patron de la paroisse de Dontreix et vous pouvez visiter ses rochers dans la forêt de Drouille.
ENGLISH
St. Julien, a French soldier in the Roman army was martyred by the Romans because of his conversion to Christianity. He was caught in the forest of Drouille, commne of Dontreix, and burned in Brioude (63). Each year in late August, a procession leaves the village to join his rocks in the forest. His statue has been vandalized, the mayor asked Hal Wilson, located in the municipality, to create a statue of steel, indestructible. Hal Wilson is the artist who created the memorial celebrating the French Resistance, installed in the town of Ancizes (63) Saint Julien is the patron of the parish of Dontreix and you can visit her in the forest of rocks Drouille.
