Most famous people achieve fame for what they achieve. However, X's fame comes from what they perhaps achieved. To this day no one knows whether X did indeed achieve what they were trying to do, although their achievement was remarkable anyway.
The son of a clergyman, X was not a native of Surrey. X came to Surrey to live and work after studying history at Cambridge University.
Shortly after getting married, X's career was interrupted by military service. When that was completed X returned to Surrey to resume their career. However X resigned from their post several years later in order to pursue the activity which they later became famous for. It was shortly after this that, in an interview, X gave a famous terse answer to a question.
X died at a young age, just 10 days or so before their ABth birthday.
It is interesting to note that in the year 19CD X's grandson and namesake achieved what X may or may not have achieved.
X had a younger brother who was a wartime senior military commander who died at the age of EF.

The cache is not at a location that we would normally choose, and is not close to where X lived or worked in Surrey, but if X was alive today we like to think that they might be a regular visitor here.
