Geocache Description:

Neptune - Part of the Fredericton Solar System series

This site is the 8th in a series of geocaches hidden around Fredericton. Each cache will represent a planet, and will contain a brief description of the planet at the correct scale distance from the Sun. Start your journey among the planets by visiting City Hall and looking at the circle of water (in the summer) around the fountain.(N 45° 57.790' W 66° 38.598') Now imagine that our Sun was this big and Neptune was the size of a volleyball. Space is getting very very empty now. It's about 4.5 billion kilometers to Earth. Galileo mistook Neptune for a fixed star when it appeared very close—in conjunction—to Jupiter, so he didn't get credit for finding it. When you find it, take a card or trinket and trade a space related item if you can. The complete series can be found at:
