The purpose of this series is to
ride Houston METRO rail, doing a cache at each stop. You can,
of course, do them without riding the rails, but then this series
becomes a collection of pointless micros in meaningless
locations. The series runs from Reliant Park to
Bell.
I don't care for nano
containers. But, if you've found thirty caches you've
probably run across these annoying little critters. They're
about the size of the last joint of your little finger. If I
were King of Caching I would require a written justification for
using them. But, since they're so widely used and it
seemed like the only practical way to do this series, I'm using
them -- por favor, perdóname.
Since the objective of this series
is riding the rail, not finding the caches, I'm giving an
explanation and pictures for each cache hoping to make them easy to
find. And, I haven't jammed in a full log so, hopefully, the
logs are fairly easy to get it out and put it back. Since the
log is very small, please use only your initials (no date), and try
to use as little space as practical. In case you've never
encountered one of these before, to replace the log, put it in the
cap -- not in the bottom (see picture on dime). This way it's
easy to screw the cap on and you won't mangle the log while closing
the container. I suggest you bring along an unfolded
paperclip or pointed tweezers to extract the log.
Initially the cache was where
it's shown in the picture, but many cachers don't replace the
container where they found it, so after a few finds there's no
telling where it may be. If you find it somewhere else please
put it back where I had it originally.
I placed the caches going
southbound but you can do the series going either north or south on
Metrorail Red Line. The SB or NB in the title indicates
whether they're closer to the northbound or southbound
platforms. If there's no SB or NB in the title it's a
wash.
During the week trains come every
six minutes. With one ticket you can get on and off the train
at each station as long as you travel in the
same direction and complete the trip within three
hours.
Assuming you do the series at one
time please say in your log how long it took. It took me four
hours to put them out. It may be possible to do them in
three three hours, but you probably shouldn't dawdle.
All these descriptions started out
the same except for the hints and pictures of the individual
locations. But, so I don't have to change all the cache pages
if I modify the description, the most up-to-date description will
be for Choo Choo
Reliant.
