ARCO DE SÃO JORGE
Esta freguesia do concelho de Santana deve o seu nome à forma em arco das montanhas que a circundam e do facto de ter pertencido à freguesia de São Jorge, até 1676, ano em que o Arco de São Jorge se tornou uma freguesia autónoma.
Das seis freguesias do concelho, esta é a mais pequena em extensão, com apenas 3,5 Km2. Tem cerca de 520 habitantes.
This parish in the municipality of Santana owes its name to the arched shape of the mountains that surround it and the fact that it belonged to the parish of São Jorge, until 1676, years in which the Arco de São Jorge became an independent parish.

Beneficia de um micro clima muito próprio que lhe confere condições singulares para a agricultura. Apresenta verões quentes e invernos de alguma pluviosidade. As temperaturas médias ao longo de todo o ano, rondam os 16º C.
A estrada regional que passa nesta freguesia dá acesso ao concelho de Santana e ao de São Vicente. As actividades principais da população são a agricultura e a viticultura. Tem costa no Oceano Atlântico a norte e montanhas a sul.

Este miradouro oferece uma bela vista sobre o mar, bem como quase toda a costa norte. Daqui pode ver-se as freguesias de Boaventura e Ponta Delgada. Mais ao longe conseguimos ainda avistar São Vicente, Seixal e Porto Moniz. Em dias de céu limpo, é possível observar a ilha vizinha.
