Geocache Description:

Log only cache is located within Tarrywile Park in Danbury CT. Very short walk to reach the cache. Bring your own pen.

During the spring, summer and fall season, the Garden has it's own parking lot off Southern Blvd. In the off season, park in the main Tarrywile lot on Southern Blvd or the Mansion parking lot off Brushy Hill Road.

A Children’s Garden was opened in October 2000 in an area of the Tarrywile Park once known for its beautiful Japanese Gardens. It was designed as a handicap accessible area of the Park. Landscape designer Jane Didona, who describes the garden as an “environmental playground,” employed a garden concept inspired by the wildly popular children’s book Where the Wild Things Are by author Maurice Sendak. The result is a wonderful setting where “children can interact with nature in a way that promotes fun and education.”

The garden is the site of many activities for children- including story-telling, class trips and family outings. Environmental education activities are conducted in a hands-on manner that engages the child’s imagination. Wander through the garden to find the cache.
