První písemná zmínka o
Brandýse nad Labem je z roku 1304, kdy se nejmenuje prímo tvrz ale
trhová ves Brandýs s mostem a kostelem sv. Petra.
Zamek Brandys nad Labem je vyznamná renesancni

The first written mention of
Brandys nad Labem is from 1304, when the fort is named Brandys
market village with a bridge and St.. Peter Church.
The castle in Brandys nad Labem belongs to one of the most
important Renaissance monuments in the Czech Republic. It served as
a seat of caesars and it also used to be a summer hunting seat of
Czech monarchs. During six centuries, all the caesars from the
Habsburk family visited the castle. Originally a Gothic castle a
property of the Czech royal house and a hunting seat of caesar
Ferdinand I. The city of Brandýs nad Labem became a royal town,
because the castle was a favourite place of the caesar Rudolf II.
There are many Renaissance, Gothic and Baroque monuments, there is
also an original stone bridge and a Jewish cemetery. Since the
middle of the 19th century the castle is a property of the family
of Tuscan Habsburks. Archduke Ludvík Salvátor, son of the last
Tuscan grand-duke Leopold II., collected many things from his trips
( he was an important scientist). The last owner of the castle was
the last caesar of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy - Karel I.
Rakouský. In the castle there is a permanent historical exposition
in the former caesar rooms, a Tuscan library and a military
historical exposition.
