Geocache Description:

St Botolphs ,Aspley Guise

Records of the diocese mention a church on this site in 1223.The tower and clock date somewhere between 1400 and 1650 although it was repaired in victorian times. There are 6 bells in its tower. In the middle of the nineteenth century very extensive repairs were made to the fabric of the church. So much was added that the inside appears almost wholly victorian. A vestry extension was completed in 1980 and in 1997 this was developed further to provide a second storey. The original magnetic nano has disappeared, so you are now looking for a 35mm pot in a slightly different location (minor adjustment to coordinates). Search if you dare on Sundays!!
