FAJÃ DO MAR - CAIS DA BAIXA DO LEÃO
A Fajã do Mar é uma paradisíaca praia de calhau banhada por águas cristalinas. Esta praia tem a vantagem de ser uma praia quase privada pois é desconhecida por muitos Madeirenses e por apenas ter nas suas redondezas quatro ou cinco casas.
Fajã do Mar is a paradise pebble beach bathed by crystal clear waters. This beach has the advantage of being an almost private beach because it is unknown by many Madeiran and in the neighborhood there is only four or five houses.
A sua acessibilidade é a principal condicionante, uma vez que o pequeno e único acesso não é recomendado a carros visto os lugares para estacionar serem quase nulos. Assim é recomendado que o carro fique na estrada principal onde só existem três lugares de estacionamento.
Its accessibility is the main constrain, since the only access is small and it is not recommended because the parking spaces are close to zero. So it is recommended that the car stays on the main road where there are only three parking spaces.
Na Fajã do Mar poderás visitar a Capela de Nossa Senhora da Vida, reedificada no séc. XIX. É uma capela maneirista de planta longitudinal simples, com uma sacristia adossada ao lado direito. Antigamente, esta capela era muito frequentada por marinheiros e pescadores, que vinham pedir protecção contra os perigos do mar.
In Faja do Mar you can visit the Chapel of Our Lady of Life, rebuilt in the XIX century. This is a mannerist chapel of longitudinal design, with a sacristy addorsed on the right side. Previously, this chapel was frequented by sailors and fishermen, who were seeking protection against the dangers of the sea.
