This is one in a series of caches entitled "Take a Hike" that was placed by The Lynch Three between 2011-2012. There are no puzzles, no hard multi's, or no challenging hides in this series; instead, what they share in common is a good hike in the woods, enjoyable in any season.
The Lynch Three has been retired from caching for a while now, so I adopted some of this series so that others could have the same experience of taking a great hike like I once did!
This is my favorite spot in Andover. Feel free to take a seat, take pictures, or just relax like I did when I first travelled to Journey's End. Also note that many Letterboxes are hidden near this cache, so be sure you've found a Geocache before signing!
(The Lynch Three, 2011): There is a reason why this is the first cache we have placed in our new "Take a Hike" series, for this will bring you to my favorite spot in the AVIS network. The hike is about a mile each way, on flat, wide trails, suitable even for children on a mountain bike. Your destination, Journey's End, is perfect for a picnic or just some time of quiet contemplation. There is a letter box out here also; if you find it first, know that the cache is on the other side of the trail.
Also, be sure to check out the nearby boardwalk, for it makes a great loop back to the main trail. About 100 yards from GZ on the main trail, you will see a smaller trail head off to the right----take that on your hike back out, for you'll get a wonderful view of the pond and its wildlife. Enjoy your hike!
