From the park office at Watoga, drive through the Bucks Run cabin area toward the Ann Bailey trail head. You will pass the T.M. Cheek overlook on the way. Park at the Ann Bailey trail head parking area and follow your GPS to the cache. It is located close to the parking area. You may need to BYOP!!!
On 9/23/2011 I proposed to the woman I love at these exact coordinates. It was my intension to create a geocache here in her name (if she said yes) from the very beginning. The day before I asked her, I created a fake cache and hid it at this same hiding place. I placed only her ring in the container and I was nervous about leaving it atop this mountain in the middle of the woods over night but felt the risk was worth it. After a day of geocaching, I gave the coordinates to her and told her this would be our last find of the day before retiring to cabin #17 for the night. As she opened the container her eyes became wide and teary. She turned to find me on bended knee and nervously stumbling over my words as I humbly asked for her hand in marriage. You already know her answer or you wouldn’t be looking for the treasure we left behind. By the way, the theme for the cache is rings.
