Paulinum Palace - Grotto of Bethlehem (karkonosze.pro 01)
Palac Paulinum w Jeleniej Górze. Trzykondygnacyjny palac wzniesiony
zostal w XIX wieku przez rodzine Kramstów, przemyslowców
pochodzenia niemieckiego, na wzgórzu na wschód od centrum Jeleniej
Góry. Projekt architektoniczny zakladal upodobnienie obiektu do
kompleksów zamkowo-palacowych z Saksonii, co znalazlo odbicie w
zastosowaniu wielu charakterystycznych dla tamtego rejonu detalach
konstrukcyjnych i wykonczeniowych. W roku 1931 obiekt zostal
zakupiony przez Niemiecki Front Pracy, który przebudowal go na
centrum szkoleniowe NSDAP. We wrzesniu 1945 roku palac stal sie
najwieksza panstwowa skladnica dolnoslaskich dziel sztuki, nastepne
zlokalizowano w nim kasyno oficerskie dla pobliskiego garnizonu
wojskowego. Od 2002 roku palac jest wlasnoscia prywatnej spólki i
miesci sie w nim hotel wraz z restauracja. Budowla z zalozeniem
tarasowym, zaopatrzona jest w liczne wiezyczki, wykusze oraz loggie
skierowana ku zboczu i nieregularne porozmieszczane okna. Obiekt
jest bogato przyozdobiony kamiennym detalem architektonicznym. Do
wnetrza palacu prowadzi wglebiony portyk z kolumnami. Wnetrza
palacu zachowaly swój pierwotny wystrój oraz charakter.
Palac otacza rozlegly park z ciekawymi zespolami skalnymi. W drodze
do palacu, po lewej stronie, znajduje sie jeden z nich z ukryta
wewnatrz grota, która od 1999 roku nosi miano Groty
Betlejemskiej.

W chwili zalozenia, skrzynka zawierala: na wymiane: dwa dlugopisy
karkonosze.pro, pileczka kauczukowa,muszelka, smycz, opaska
odblaskowa, breloczek pieczatka, a dla trzech pierwszych znalazców
FTF, STF, TTF =)
Nie na wymiane: logbook, olówek, temperówka.
Miejsce potencjalnie niebezpieczne podczas wspinania sie miedzy

Pearl of Jelenia Góra... is the XIX century Paulinum Palace,
located on a picturesque hill close to the city center. This
neorenaissance hunters manor,entices Guests with sophisticated
restaurant, conference rooms, stylish rooms and historical
apartments. The Palace wae founded in XIXth century by contemporary
owner of the Paulinum goods Richard von Kramst.
An area of few acres of forest park surrounds not only the Palace
itself, but also the naighbouring courtyard, which since 1655
belonged to Jelenia Góra`s jesuits. The mansion was built in 1872.
The object was designed by Saxon architect Kurt Spite, giving the
building its castle character. In the XXth century the palace was
twice rebuilt. In 1905 Oskar Carlo, a new owner, commisioned a new
interior arrangement to Karl Grosser, and in 1964 after the roof
had burnt, a second storey was built. Although only 140 years old,
the building had a very interesting history. The Palace was a
private residence; after the national socialists took power in 1933
it become a training centre of thr National Labour Fronte; during
the Second World War the Palace was a storage of the archives
evacuated from Berlin and after the end of the war, the biggest
Silesia`s storage of Ministry of Culture for newly found art
moments in the surroundings, later on the Palace functioned as a
relaxation centre and a place of creative work for art historians.
Finally it become Army officers` guest house.
The palace is surrounded by a large park with interesting rocks. On
the way to the palace, on the left, is one of them hidden inside a
cave, which since 1999 is called the Grotto of Bethlehem.
