Pienikokoinen kätkö Haltialan Korpipolun varressa
A small sized cache by the Korpipolku nature trail.
Haltialan alue on laajin yhtenäinen ulkoilualue Helsingissä. Pinta-ala on n. 300 hehtaaria.
Haltialan Korpipolulla pääsee tutustumaan ennallistettuun metsään ulkoilualueen sydämessä. Luontopolun pituus on noin 1,2 km. Polun molemmissa päissä on alkutaulu, josta polulle tutustumisen voi aloittaa. Korpipolku on viitoitettu kuusimerkein ja sinikeltaisin merkkinauhoin. Polku on kapea, eikä sillä ole talvikunnossapitoa. Märimpien kohtien yli on rakennettu pitkospuut. Polku ei sovellu lastenrattailla kuljettavaksi. Matkan varrella kerrotaan opastauluin alueen luonnosta ja sen ennallistamisesta.
Ennallistamisen tarkoitus on palauttaa ihmisen muuttama metsä takaisin kohti sen alkuperäistä luonnontilaa. Ennallistettavan alueen metsiä ei hakata, ja kuolleet puut saavat lahota rauhassa. Hankkeen keskeisin kohde on itäosan rehevä, noin 10 hehtaarin laajuinen lehtokorpilaakso, joka on ollut ojitettuna 1900-luvun alkupuolelta lähtien. Ojat padottiin vuonna 2005 vedenpinnan nostamiseksi luontaiselle tasolleen.
Polun alkuun on Niskalan pysäköintialueelta (Kuninkaantammentie 40) noin kilometri.
Lännen suunnalta tultaessa Pitkäkosken majan pysäköintialueelta polun alkuun on noin 0,4 km.

The area of Haltiala is the largest undivided recreation ground in Helsinki. The area is about 300 hectares.
In Korpipolku ( Wilderness path ) you can meet restored forest in the heart of the recreation ground. The length of the nature trail is about 1.2 kilometres.
The both ends of the trail have an info board where you can start the trail. Korpipolku is marked with spruce marks and blue-yellow tapes. The trail is narrow and not maintained during winters. There are logs across the wettest spots. The trail is not suitable for strollers. Along the way, there are info boards telling of the nature of the area and its restoration.
The purpose of restoration is to restore a forest changed by the human towards its original natural state.
The forests of the restoration area are not cut and the dead trees can decompose naturally. Project's main target is the eastern part of the lush, approximately 10-hectare valley grove of spruce, which has been drained since the beginning of the 1900s. Dikes were dammed in 2005 to raise the water levels to the natural levels.
There is about a kilometer to the start of the trail from Niskala parking area (Kuninkaantammentie 40).
Upon entering from the west side, there is about 0.4 kilometres from Pitkäkoski parking area to the start of the trail.
