Dansk

First finder mønt er lagt i cachen.

English

Samso airfield is one of the classic places where pilots will meet from across the country. This airfield lives up to the island's original meaning of its name "Island of gathering" - where in the old days boats came from east and west.

Since 2004, the airstrip has been developing. The enthusiastic Rune Balle took over for the municipality and developed the strip as his own project. He obviously started sightseeing and taxi flights to and from all over the country, but he also introduced bicycle and kayak rentals. Finally, Rune started to make a Terminal 2 with a small cinema and exhibition of aircraft models.

During summer the annual European Championship in rubber boot throwing (Size 45 for men and size 38 for women) is held here, and the grill is burning on other good weekend days.

We also visit the island early in the season to get the famous fresh potatoes, usually combined with lunch at one of the island's good eating places. Only a few restaurants open so early in the year, so you should orientate yourself a little before arrival.

There is, for our taste, a little too many easy caches on the island, so this is the most physically demanding task in the Fly-In Series. First finder coin is enclosed in the cache.
