To claim a find and log this cache you must have a minimum of 15
cache finds from forest fire lookout locations within the Mt. Hood
lookout region. You must create a public list of all those finds
and bookmark it to this cache page. We have created a list of the
approved
Mt. Hood Region Fire Lookouts.
The cache final is at the posted coordinates and is placed near the
50 ft. Si-Si Butte lookout tower. Si-Si Butte stands a little over
5600 ft. in elevation. Those who visit the lookout will find much
to explore including an old heli-pad with old tools and equipment
strewn about.
Be aware that the lookout is staffed during the summer months.
Please be respectful of the grounds and be discrete when retrieving
the cache.
* We would like to note that the purpose of this cache is not to
interfere with the Oregon Forest Fire Lookout Challenge (GC15CVW).
Our hope is that it will serve as a starting platform that will
inspire others to complete that challenge as well.
