L’arboretum, qui porte le nom de Paul Barge en hommage à l’ancien propriétaire des lieux avant leur acquisition par la commune, s’étend sur cinq hectares. Ici, vous explorez la végétation naturelle de la région, au fil d’un sentier balisé. Vous avez le choix entre trois circuits de différentes longueurs, selon le temps que vous voulez consacrer à la visite. Le long de chaque sentier sont installés des panneaux d’identification des arbres, ponctués par des bancs : très pratique pour faire une pause en cours de visite, car, finalement, cela grimpe un peu ! Au total, plus d’une quarantaine d’essences sont ici présentes. Si le chalet est ouvert lors de votre passage, prenez quelques instants pour vous y arrêter avec les enfants et leur expliquer ce qu’est l’herbier. Les expositions sur le bois et la forêt complètent très bien la visite.
The arboretum, which is named after Paul Barge in tribute to the former owner of the premises before it was acquired by the municipality, covers five hectares. Here you explore the natural vegetation of the region, over a marked trail. You have a choice of three circuits of varying lengths, depending on the time you put into the visit. Along each path are installed signs identifying trees, punctuated by benches: very convenient to take a break during the visit, because ultimately, it climbs a bit! In total, more than forty species are present here. If the chalet is open during your visit, take a moment to stop there with the children and explain what the herbarium. Exposures to wood and the forest very well complement the visit.
