WARNING - This cache is placed right in the middle of one of the most crowded places in LUGANO. Please be STEALTHY else it would not last for long!

ENGLISH

The platform roof for the new central bus terminal of the public urban transports is located on the city square of the Piazzale Ex-Scuole, and has a front line of 70 meters along Corso Pestalozzi, and a side depth of 18 meters. The project, designed by the Swiss Architect Mario Botta is composed of a central, 7 meter high nave with two 5 meter high side aisles, formed by two opposed structures, which create a new urban space, offering a protection platform roof for the Bus stop and on the south front, the connection with the parking lot for cars, bikes and scooters.
The bearing structure is made of a steel frame with a double beam - supported by only 4 columns - acting as a roof on each fronts at both the heights of 5 and 7 meters.
The structure is covered with a translucent material (plexiglas) and offers an opaque surface allowing a filtered light. The given effect of the translucent surface characterizes the whole spot of this central bus station, whether offering wide, bright and weather protected spaces.

Il tetto piattaforma del nuovo terminal centrale degli autobus del trasporto pubblico urbano si trova sul Piazzale Ex-Scuole, si estende su du una lunghezza di 70 metri lungo Corso Pestalozzi, ed una profondità di 18 metri di lato.
Il progetto, ad opera dell'Architetto Mario Botta è composto da una navata centraledi 7 metri di altezza e da due navate laterali alte 5 metri formate da due strutture simmetricamente opposte, che vanno a creare un nuovo spazio urbano.

La struttura portante è realizzata in acciaio a doppio fascio - supportata solo da 4 colonne - funge da tetto su ambo i fronti, su enrtrambe le altezze di 5 e 7 metri.
La struttura è rivestita con un materiale trasparente (plexiglas) e offre una superficie opaca che filtra una luce filtrata fredda e diffusa. L'effetto dato della superficie traslucida caratterizza il tutta questa stazione centrale degli autobus, offrendo allo stesso tempo uno spazio protetto e luminoso nel cuore della città.
