This cache is dedicated to our geocaching friend Viajero Perdido. We hear he likes these out of the way caches. Hope this is to his liking! And we hope he doesn't get too lost in his Travels!
This cache is located at the beautiful Lake of the Falls. It is about a 17/18 km hike from the parking lot to the lake, so please bring a tent and enjoy the lake. There is a couple of creek crossings you must make, but if you are agile, you might be able to make it across fairly dry. There are also some fairly steep sections that will make you think why you are coming all this way just for a cache, but the lake will be worth every inch of incline. There are a couple of caches along the way, so make sure to load them up as well. Or you can do the lazy man's trip by paying for a helicopter ride. Don't know what that cost, but it would be pretty cool!
The lake is good for fishing, there are bull trout, as well as cut throat trout. Remember that you are not allowed to keep any bull trout. No black on their dorsal fin, you have to throw them back. Cut throat trout have a distinct red marking under their "chin". You may keep 2 of these according to the Alberta Fishing guide of 2011, but please check every year for restrictions.
Please use caution when at Ground Zero, you want to be able to walk out again.
