[LV] - Dambitis ir tikai dala no kopeja Daugavas–Misas kanala hidrobuvju kompleksa, kas tika uzbuvets 1969. gada. Šis sistemas uzdevums bija mazudens periodos palielinat Misas upes udens caurteci rupnicas “Olainfarm” vajadzibam un samazinat Olaines pilsetas un rupniecibas notekudenu koncentraciju ar udeni no Daugavas. Šaja vairak neka 10 km garaja hidrobuvju kompleksa no Rigas HES udenskratuves lidz Misas upei ietilpst udens nemšanas buves pie Rigas HES dambja, divi 1,2 m diametra caurulvadi lidz Kekavai, dzelzsbetona tunelis (Way to the Styx GC1DAPK cache) un valejs kanals lidz Dambitim. Ar Dambiša aizsprostu udens limenis atseviška Kekavas upes posma tika paaugstinats, un paštece pa nakamo kanala posmu udens nonaca lidz 2. paceluma suknu stacijai pie Rigas apvedcela. Šeit sukni udeni parsukneja pedeja kanala posma, kas to aizvadija lidz Misas upei. Svaigais Daugavas udens papildina Sausas Daugavas udensteci karstakajos un sausakajos vasaras menešos. Padomju gados Dambitis bija ari viena no popularakajam peldvietam Kekaviešiem. Atjaunotas Latvijas laika udens novadišanas sistema no Rigas HES udenskratuves lidz Misai tika nodota Kekavas pagastam. Kopš ta laika uzturešanas vai remonta darbi netika veikti.
Pašlaik ir atjaunota parslegumu majas eka pie Rigas HES, atjaunoti drošibas aizvari un viens no diviem milzu aizbidniem 1,2 m diametra caurulvadam. Ir iztirita Dambiša udenskratuves gultne, atjaunotas krastu nogazes, sakartotas Dambiša pargaznes aizsprosta margas un izveidots auto stavlaukums pie Dambiša. Tapat ka kadreiz Dambitis ir kluvis par popularu peldvietu vietejiem Kekavas iedzivotajiem.
[EN] - Dambitis is only a part of Daugava - Misa Channel hydro-construction system that was built in 1969. This system was built to increase Misa River flow rate for the Olainfarm factory needs in the low water periods and to reduce both Olaine municipality wastewater and industrial wastewater density with the water from Daugava River. This, more than 10 km long hydro-construction system stretching from Riga HPS water reservoir to the Misa River includes water intake structures at the Riga HPS dam, two 1.2 m-diameter pipelines to Kekava, concrete tunnel (Way to the Styx GC1DAPK cache) and an open channel to Dambitis. The Dambitis dam raised the water level in one stretch of the Kekava River and a blow-by flow in the next stretch of the channel led the water to a second lift pumping station at Riga bypass. Here, the water was pumped into the last stretch of the channel releasing it to the Misa River. The fresh water of the Daugava River enriches Sausa Daugava watercourse during the hottest and driest summer months. During the Soviet times Dambitis was also one of the most popular beaches to the Kekava locals. Since the independent statehood of Latvia was renewed the water controlling and discharge system stretching from Riga HPS water reservoir to the Misa River was handed over to Kekava municipality.
Since then, maintenance and repair works have not been made. Now, a switching station at Riga HPS is reconstructed, floodgates and one of the two huge dampers for the 1.2 m diameter pipeline are repaired, Dambitis water reservoir bed is cleaned up, bank slopes are renewed, floodgate parapet is reconstructed and a parking lot is built at Dambitis.
