[LAT] Pakulu HES ka starpkolhozu HES buveta laika no 1955. lidz 1958.g. Taja uzstadija divas horizontalas katla tipa Frensisa turbinas ar darba rata diametru 840 mm, generatoru jauda 250 kW. Darbojusies lidz 1973.g., kad partraukta elektroenergijas ražošana un dala iekartu demontetas. 1993.gada sakas HES atjaunošanas darbi un 1996. gada ta atsaka savu darbibu ar vecajam Frensisa tipa turbinam. 2000. gada HES tika modernizeta, uzstaditas divas automatiski vadamas Kaplana tipa Mavel horizontalas hidroturbinas ar rata diametru 850 mm katrai un jaudu kopa 400 kW, kas darbojas ari šobrid. HES kritums 7,8 m.
Pakulu HES uzpludinajums Cieceres upes ieleja ir izveidojis Pakulu udenskratuvi. Tas garums ir 7 km, plataka vieta ap 400 metriem un lielakais dzilums ir 6.1 metrs. Ši ir viena no lielakajam mazo HES udenskratuvem Ventas baseina un taja ir 2 salas ar 2 ha kopejo platibu. Šo vietu loti iecienijuši makškernieki un šeit mit plauži, asari, raudas, lidakas, lini, karpas un zandarti.
Apmeram 200 m no aizsprosta uzpludinajuma kreisaja krasta ir neliela peldvieta ... vasara varetu but patikami to apmeklet :)

[ENG] Pakuli hydroelectric station was built from year 1955 till 1958. There was installed two horizontal boiler type Francis turbine with 250 kW generator power. Operated until 1973, when equipment removed. In 1993 renovations was started and after 3 years in 1996 it resumed operation with the old Francis-type turbines. In year 2000 Pakuli hydroelectric station were upgraded - two automatic guided Kaplan type turbines were installed with total capacity of 400 kW. They works well now. Hydroelectric station drop is 7.8 m.
Pakuli hydroelectric station has created Pakuli pond in Ciecere river valley. Its length is 7 km, the widest place about 400 meters and a maximum depth is 6,1 meter. This is one of the largest of small hydroelectric power station reservoirs in Venta basin and there are 2 islands in it with a total area of 2 hectares. This place is very popular with anglers and here live bream, perch, roach, pike, tench, carp and pike-perch.
There are small bathing place about 200 m from the dam at the left bank of pond ... It might be nice to visit it in Summer :)
You can drive to the cache from both sides, but I recommend to do it from the Lašupe station. Road that comes direcly from Riga - Liepaja highway to dam, closer to the destination is free coverage, highly rugged and crossing grassland. It might be a complete offroad during wet weather from this side.
