Geocache Description:

To solve this puzzle, you'll need to work out who the old-fashioned fella is...

Needless to say, you won't find the cache at the published coordinates.

Who am I?

The man in question is now rather dead. In fact he has been rather dead for a few hundred years (unsurprisingly given the picture).

What may be somewhat more surprising is that there is a 1960's Pop Group that is still around today and is named after him. Although to be fair they were named after him more by accident than by intention. The story goes that when they first started playing, they used to gig a lot. Apparently they weren't that good, and they could never get a repeat booking. The guy who used to manage their bookings used to make up a new name for them every time he booked them in somewhere for a new gig. The first time they got a repeat booking, the name they had just used stuck.

Anyhow, back to the old fella, his fame stems from various inventions he made within his chosen field. These inventions are still considered to have an impact on how we do things today. He was born, died and is buried in Berkshire. His tombstone is still visible today.

ABCD = year of his birth
EFGH = year he died
J= No. of letters in his first name
