The
lake view here is from the Pend Oreille Scenic Byway, State Highway
200 along the north shore. From this angle, you can only see Warren
Island, the largest of the 4 on the lake. You will have to drive
east a mile to get a view of the other two small ones(Cottage &
Pearl) that are hidden behind Warren. Memaloose, the fourth island,
is further east and is only a couple hundred feet from the shore of
the peninsula. Much of the shore around the lake is
mountainous.
The
mountains to the east are the Green Monarchs, to the north are the
Cabinet Mountains, to the southwest the Coeur d'Alène, and to
northwest are the Selkirk mountains.
Stop and learn a little about the beautiful lake we live near.
Since the terrain is 1.5, do not go over the embankment to retrieve
the cache. It is accessible from flat ground!
