UNESCO World Heritage
A UNESCO World Heritage Site is a place (such as a forest, mountain, lake, desert, monument, building, complex, or city) that is listed by the UNESCO as of special cultural or physical significance. The list is maintained by the international World Heritage Programme administered by the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, composed of 21 states parties which are elected by their General Assembly.
The program catalogues, names, and conserves sites of outstanding cultural or natural importance to the common heritage of humanity. Under certain conditions, listed sites can obtain funds from the World Heritage Fund. The programme was founded with the Convention Concerning the Protection of World Cultural and Natural Heritage, which was adopted by the General Conference of UNESCO on November 16, 1972. Since then, 186 states party have ratified the convention.

The Challenge
There are currently seven World Heritage Sites in Finland. We challenge you to visit all of these sites and find at least one geocache or waymark in each of them. There are no time constraints on completing the challenge, so please take your time enjoying these magnificent places.
Accepted geocaches and waymarks are listed at the bottom of this cache description. If some cache is missing from the list, please contact us.
Please attach a list of caches you have found in Finnish world heritage sites (at least one per site) in you log. Include also dates of your visits. Any log that does not meet requirements will be deleted due to Groundspeak guidelines.
The Cache
The small sized cache is located in the given coordinates and it should be easy to find even in winter. Terrain is little bushy, but cache is quite close to the road. Terrain rating for this cache (excluding the challenge part) would be 2-2.5.
UNESCOn Maailmanperintöluettelo
Maailmanperintöluettelo on Unescon ylläpitämä järjestelmä, jonka tarkoituksena on suojella maailman ainutlaatuista kulttuuri- ja luonnonperintöä. Luetteloon valittujen kohteiden ja alueiden katsotaankin olevan arvokkaimmat perintökohteet, joiden suojelulla ja säilyttämisellä pitäisi olla erityinen merkitys ihmiskunnan kulttuuri- ja luonnonperinnön säilymiselle.
Unescon yleissopimus kulttuuri- ja luonnonperinnön säilyttämisestä allekirjoitettiin vuonna 1972. Tämän jälkeen 187 valtiota on ratifioinut sopimuksen.

Haaste
Suomessa on tällä hetkellä seitsemän maailmanperintökohdetta. Haastamme sinut käymään kaikissa näissä ja etsimään vähintään yhden kätkön tai waymarkin jokaisesta. Haasteen suorittamisella ei ole aikarajoja, joten suorita se omaan tahtiisi ja muista nauttia näistä kaikista upeista paikoista.

Liitä lokiisi lista kätköistä, jotka olet hakenut suomalaisista maailmanperintökohteista (vähintään yksi per kohde) ja päivämäärä jona olet kätköllä käynyt. Asiattomat lokkaukset tullaan poistamaan Groundspeakin ohjeiden mukaisesti.
Kätkö
Kätkö sijaitsee annetuissa koordinaateissa. Se on pienikokoinen ja löytyy helposti myös talvella. Maasto voi olla pusikkoista, mutta tieltä ei ole pitkä matka purkille. Tämän kätkön maastoluokitus on haasteosuus poislukien 2-2,5.
