Geocache Description:

welcome to the SINTRA POWER TRAIL

This is part of a sequence, although it can be found and logged. For further detail see SPT#1 - Águas de Cascais ADC N7 (GC2W23N)

A CACHE

MULE RIVER

Having just left behind the Mule River Pond, we couldn't pass the opportunity to dedicate one of the Power Trail caches to this well known landmark. All the more so because you have already visited some of the galleries, part of the water galleries system of Malveira da Serra and Horse’s Valley that, together with this pond and some wells, constitute Cascais own water resources.

Although accounting for only 9% of current consumption, the lion's share being provided by EPAL through two pipelines, it is nevertheless interesting to know these resources, even more because the Mula river reservoir, with its storage capacity of 400,000 m3 is, by far, the largest water reservoir located in the Municipality.

You may find more data on of this dam, on the following link: http://cnpgb.inag.pt/gr_barragens/gbportugal/FICHAS/Riodamulaficha.htm

After crossing the waterline, climb a small slope and turn right. The cache will easily appear at the right side of way. As usual, there is a hint.

Afterwards, you will have to go back a few yards to return to the path that will lead you to the next cache.
