The cache is located on the summit of the Middle Rabbit Ear
peak, in the Organ mountains. Of the 3 Rabbit Ear peaks, the summit
of the Middle is the most difficult to reach. To my knowledge,
there are no 3rd or 4th class scramble routes which means you are
left with multi-pitch 5th class climbing.
There are multiple ways of approaching this peak, and climbing
to its summit. Some information can be found on-line on sites such
as Mountainproject.com,
or the venerable
Ingraham guide to climbing in the Organ Mountains. Bring a
partner, a rope, a rack and a spirit of adventure. Don't forget to
describe the route you took to the summit!
Finally, who wants to get all the way up here and not find a
little micro! Some beta for the find: it's in a green match
container and it's hidden near the summit cairn on a rock with a
shallow depression on it, covered by a flat rock.
