Geocache Description:

Daurinn (water road) known as the Darn Walk is a riverside path along the Allanwater from Bridge of Allan to Dunblane. The cache site is a short distance off this path in a seemingly impossible to get at place. There are a number of access and parking points for the Darn Walk. Your task...to locate and safely get to the cache.

This cache was placed as an extreme cache so please treat it with the respect it deserves and do not attempt it if you feel it is beyond your capabilities or if the weather conditions are adverse. It is an adventurous cache designed to test your outdoor skills, route finding, agility and bottle! Please take time to read the notes below. 5* Difficulty This reflects the difficulty in finding a route to the cache and then locating it. At the time of placing the cache the extensive tree cover did reduce the accuracy so don't complain that the GPS is 20ft out!! As there is no clue as to how to undertake the cache you may need to come back with the right equipment. 5* terrain This reflects the technical know how, skills and agility needed to reach the cache site. General Safety Points * I would suggest that the cache should not be attempted alone and that you leave details of where you have gone with someone else. * The cache site is bounded by the river and a mainline railway to the West. How you approach the cache site is up to you BUT Under NO circumstances should you contemplate a shortcut across the railway line. This is not only illegal but extremely dangerous. * There are small cliffs, steep banks and water hazards near the cache site making this unsuitable for children and dogs. * Certain equipment will be needed. Do not attempt the cache without this essential equipment. Return if necessary. I would suggest that you seriously consider a helmet as well as the technical equipment needed. you MAY require the following equipment [in no particular order] 1. TORCH 2. Wet weather wear 3. Wellies, waders required or Boots you don't mind getting wet 4. A walking pole 5. Head protection 6. Spare Clothes 7. Toilet Paper 8. A sense of humour 9. To preserve the integrity of the effort of those actually managing to find the cache, could I ask that only those that get to the cache and sign it, log it as a found. 10.But feel free to post photos of your attempts Above all else....Have FUN. If the river is low and it is warm (unlikely) then there is a lovely pool at N 56 09.747 W 003 57.256 for swimming, jumping in, getting lots of photos Bear in mind this spot is below Dunblane WTP (see point 7 above) PLEASE replace the cache as you found it. ******Well done to Donian for the FTF******
