#6 of 11 PLEASE FOLLOW THE SERIES IN ORDER 1 - 11!

LEARN ABOUT LOCAL HISTORY WHILE GEOCACHING!!! This is the Raupp Museum’s first ever Geocaching Series!!! This is a cache series that will lead the Geocacher around town highlighting our local park history. Some of these sites may go unnoticed to the average person until they have been made aware of them. To commemorate this series 200 geocoins have been created.

You must complete the all of the sites within the series (#1 through #11) in order to follow the series properly. Do not forget to log your finds! Remember, my goal is to have Geocachers learn a little about our town’s history.

The first to find all of the caches will receive a prize inside of cache #11, a FREE Buffalo Grove history geocoin! Only 200 have been made and will not be reissued after they are gone…

The Weidners were among the first families to come to Buffalo Grove. Jacob Weidner, who was known as Little Jake, was 27 years old when he came to Buffalo Grove to scout out the area for his family. Little Jake liked the land so much that he asked his father, his five brothers, his uncle and their families to come live in Buffalo Grove.
