In the early evening hours 11th February 1905 was the tragic event near crucifix in the main lane Oskol. The city main road-mender Jan Rezny (1835-1905) was murdered route from a visit with his son in the house "Na Hrázi" closer "Rejdiáda" at his residence in the street Podebradova. V podvečerních hodinách dne 11. února 1905 došlo u krížku Oskolské hlavní třídy k tragické události. Cestou z návštěvy u svého syna v domě “Na hrázi" blíže „Rejdiádě“ do svého bydliště v ulici Poděbradova byl na tomto místě zavražděn městský cestmistr v Kroměříži Jan Režný (1835-1905). Jeho žena Anežka (1845-1917) byla starší sestra poslance Říšské rady a poslance zemského sněmu za Křesťansko-národní stranu, pozdějšího desátého Olomouckého arcibiskupa a moravského metropolity blahořečeného Antonína Cyrila Stojana (1851 – 1923). V přiloženém výpisu z úmrtní knihy vidíme, že podle ohledacího listu č. 45 ze dne 13.2.1905 je jako „Nemoc a způsob smrti dle udání obhližitele mrtvol“ uvedeno „násilné úmrtí zabitím“.

V době, kdy se udál náš příběh stával křížek u domu pana Kubíčka a Vaším prvním úkolem je najít tehdejší polohu křížku a tím i místo popisované tragické události. Místo najdete ve vzdálenosti 110 m pod azimutem 242° od výchozích souřadnic. Pokud si nebudete vědět rady, tak by Vám jako pomůcka mohla posloužit připojená historická fotografie. Na fotografii není sice vidět dům pana Kubíčka, ale sousední dům sedláka Kišnera, který po přestavbě stojí dodnes, i když nyní slouží jiným účelům. Na domě můžete vidět velký nápis s časovým údajem ve tvaru AB.CC.

Pokud vstoupíte do kostela bočním vchodem, uvidíte po své levici bystu arcibiskupa Stojana. Opět pro orientaci přidávám dobovou fotografii.
