Psychothérapeute et pharmacien, il exerce à Troyes. Auteur de la fameuse «méthode Coué», il connut de son vivant une notoriété internationale mais ses recherches furent abandonnées car on lui reprochait l'aspect sommaire de sa théorie qui se fonde sur une idée toute simple : notre inconscient détermine notre état physique et mental, et nous pouvons agir sur lui par le biais de l'imagination.
