Salamander Spotted.
In this fountain, live salamanders (larvae) depending season.
Reproduction occurs in the Spring / Summer and birth, after
hibernation in March, in an aquatic environment. Three months
later, they lose their gills to benefit lung.
Salamanders come out at night during wet weather for eating on
earthworms, insects, ...
Hibernate (without deep lethargy) between October and March.
To defend themselves, their skin secretes a toxin. They may also
amputate herself a limb, which will regenerate, to escape a
predator.
