"Villa Medem" Uzvaras iela 55 varetu but vienigais muižnieku pilsetas nams, kas saglabajies musdienas. Eka piederejusi vienai no vecakajam dzimtam - Medemiem. To buvejis pedejas Kurzemes hercogienes Dorotejas bralis grafs Žanno fon Medems. Eku projektejis arhitekts Johans Georgs Berlics, un ta uzcelta 1818. gada. “Villa Medem” in Uzvaras street 55 may be the only manor house in the city, which has survived till today.
The house belonged to one of the oldest families - Medem.
It was last built by the duchess of Courland's (Kurzeme`s) Dorothea brother Earl Janno von Medem.
Buildings designed by architect Johann Georg Berlitz, and it was built in the 1818th year.
Jelgava`s History and Art Museum experts once told - one of the descendants of Janno have been friends with Bermont army allies and allowed in the building to install something like the headquarters, so the "Villa Medem" in Jelgava was the last place where Bermont army was defeated. After the nearby Lilienfeld street was renamed to Uzvaras street (Victory street).
During the Second World War the building was destroyed, but Soviet Union from the 1946th to the 1954th year rebuilt it. After it became as club of flax factory, which until the 80th end held various events and dances.
After independence retrieval the building fate has not been favorable. Currently building is frozen (preserved) by the owner.
The cache is located Uzvaras Park which is closed at night.
