Geocache Description:

About SideTracked We have Motorway Mayhem. We have A-Road Anarchy and even Village Vexation. Now a series for public transport users! SideTracked Caches are intended to provide quick cache-and-dashes at train stations.

The Collegiate Church of St Michael and All Angels, Penkridge is located in a picturesque setting, adjacent to the main West Coast railway line. The church and churchyard are of great interest and well worth a visit. The earliest part of the church dates from the late 1100s and was at one time the centre of a small monastery, or collegium. When the railway was built in 1839 it cut straight through the churchyard and left the vicarage (now an hotel) isolated on the wrong side of the lines. The cache is a micro, 35mm film canister, containing log book and pencil. Discovering its position will involve a short walk through the churchyard, which can be entered via either of two gates to the left when leaving the station. There is wheelchair access via the main church entrance gates.
