The thing about an early flight in the big city is that you have
to get up *really* early. Mr Jones was late. As he rushed down the
stairs of his house, and out the door he glanced at his wristwatch.
It was 24 minutes to 1 in the morning. The taxi was waiting. Good
thing too, he had called for it many times. Mr Jones was
heading to the South Coast today. He had to be at his meeting at 27
minutes past 4 in the afternoon. Plenty of time still he
thought.
Of course he could have had other plans. There was another
meeting today. But it would have meant heading to Beaufort East
instead. The other meeting was at 10 to 1 in the afternoon but Mr
Jones didn't enjoy having meetings at lunch times. And for
that meeting he would have had to leave at 28 minutes past
midnight. And that was far too early for Mr Jones.
