Dalesman: This cache has been disabled for some time and as the owner has not repaired it I am archiving it.
Guidelines: "You are responsible for occasional visits to your cache to maintain proper working order, especially when someone reports a problem with the cache (missing, damaged, wet, etc.). You may temporarily disable your cache to let others know not to search for it until you have a chance to fix the problem. This feature is to allow you a reasonable amount of time - normally a few weeks - in which to check on your cache. If a cache is not being maintained, or has been temporarily disabled for an unreasonable length of time, we may archive the listing."
Geocache Description:

An introductory Hunter Gatherer geoartcache, whispering of a magical creature living in the Yorkshire Dales over summer 2011.

A traditional cache with a difference - sound whispers in the box, an invitation to contribute what you might imagine about the creature - by text or email, plus a cache key to unlock more of the story at http://www.gatherer3.com

The cache is situated off Hawes Road, in a small area of woodland on a public footpath close to Ingleton Quarry.

A Hunter Gatherer geoartcache, interacting with a magical creature living in the Yorkshire Dales. Over summer 2011 five Hunter Gatherer caches in the Yorkshire Dales will come to life at different times, when the magical creature comes to visit. If you listen, you may hear whispers of it’s song, or see glimmers of its movement. And it listens to you…

The caches play with sound, colour and text to gather responses from the hunters – you!
Hunter Gatherer explores the magic of digital media, geocaching and art – invoking the magical creature of our imagination.

The magical creature sings a song of rocks and water bubbling. Some special rocks from the quarry - rocks that ring - have been made into a lithophone and their sounds recorded.

This 'birthplace' cache celebrates the creature coming out of hibernation, just after Easter on the old festival of Beltaine, welcoming the spring. As hunters find the cache and send their responses, the creature is breathed into life!

When you find the cache you’ll be invited to respond by text* or email*, and given a password for a short film on the website – a film about the creature, made using the responses gathered from you and the other hunters.

There's a QR code in the cache too: if you have a phone with camera and internet access, you may want to install a QR reader* so that you can use this feature. (An internet search for 'your make/model of phone + QR reader' should find appropriate software, often free.)

The cache is a short walk from the town of Ingleton which can be accessed by public transport. There's some nearby roadside parking, and lots of connections to other footpaths and walking routes. It’s in a small area of woodland with old stone ruins, bubbling brooks and miniature bridges – perfect for a magical creature to hide!

You're looking for a medium-sized plastic lunch-box, hidden within easy reach of the footpath to Beezley (3/4) from the Hawes Road. Please be aware of the safety signs and proximity of steep drops - keep children and animals under close control.

*Note: phone coverage and data roaming (internet connection) are required for full use on location. You may not get a signal near the cache, however you can still use your mobile device on site and connect later over a wifi connection or in a different area where signal is stronger.
