The ammo box that went missing has been replaced with a camouflaged plastic container. It is not far off the trail. Please be sure to replace lid tightly, and replace cache in such a way that it is not visible.
All initial trade goods are related in some way to Earth Day--animal figures, world key fob, etc. Try to keep the theme alive.
Considering the name of the cache, please also practice CITO!
This cache is located at the Greenburgh Nature Center, a 33-acre nature preserve with trails, a pond and gardens. There are woodlands, two wetland sites, and an old orchard succession site. Grounds are open dawn to dusk. Cache has been placed with permission from the GNC managing director.
No charge for parking or using the trails. There is a charge for indoor exhibits, but this is not necessary for finding the cache. Indoor exhibits are closed on Fridays.
If you take a bus, it will only get you to the bottom of the hill. That adds about a half mile up hill, and raises terrain rating to a 3.5 or so.
