Geocache Description:

The BT or Borrowdale Triangle is a 3 mile walk, taking in Cat Gill, Walla Crag and Ashness Bridge and incorporating 10 caches.

The highest point of the walk is Walla Crag, which is just over 1200 feet. You can expect good paths for the whole journey, though Cat Gill is rough under foot and steep, so good strong footwear is strongly recommended. Once Cat Gill is completed, if done in a clockwise direction, the paths from Walla Crag, are downhill the whole way. One or two of the co-ordinates may be out a little, I have checked them 3 times and each time they have been different, so please bear with me. Parking can be found on the nearby 'Great Wood' National Trust car park (pay & display) or in lay-by on Borrowdale Rd. B5289. This cache has been placed with the kind permission of the National Trust. As many of you will know who are aware of this trail, particularly on a sunny hoilday, many a muggle you are likely to meet. You are looking for a plastic clip lock container. Now take the path to the left of the bridge and gill, where your journey uphill begins...... ENJOY.

I am afraid that Age and Ill Health has now caught up with me and I am unable to maintain my geocaches as I would like. I am therefore going to ARCHIVE this series along with others within the next few months.

If any fellow cachers would like to keep any of the containers for their own use, please help yourselves - JUST INFORM ME WHICH ONES YOU TAKE, so others can be informed.

In view of the above PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE TRACKABLES, RETRIEVE ANY BY ALL MEANS.

PLEASE NOTE: This series will now be archived on WED. 7th Sep 2022
