When: Tuesday (note: Tuesday) June the 14th, from 6pm
'til late.
Where: The Misty Moon, 77 The Broadway, Chesham,
Buckinghamshire HP5 1BX. 01494 785 622 - Very close to the centre
of Chesham. They do drinks of all types and have a full menu (Bowl
of fries; £1.95)
What: A Bucks, Beds & Herts Border-ing on the
Ridiculous Event (number 42, thus making Geocaching the answer to
the ultimate question) but one with a twist! At this one, an icon
of European caching will be resting his feet. That's the plan,
anyway. There's also the option of joining him at the Chesham
Tandoori (48 Broad Street, Chesham, Buckinghamshire HP5 3DX. 01494
782 669) for a slap-up curry.
This is the 42nd of an ongoing series of monthly, mid-week-ish
regular events at various locations handy for natives of the three
counties to talk caching, plan expeditions and decide who's
organising the next one. There's a good selection of caches in the
area - Including the good doctor's own Chiltern Hundreds series -
to make more of a day of it.
Why: Because it's not every month you get the chance to
meet a cacher with 20,000 finds... Also, Ali made me do it with
threats of physical violence against my person.
Who: Cachers from far and wide, with a particular focus
on those from Bucks, Beds or Herts. It's a kid-friendly pub with
the option to bring your geodog too.
How: There are good public transport links to Chesham
from Amersham (which also has a tube and train station. Chesham has
its own of course) and there's lots of free parking (after 6pm) at
N51 42.379 W000 36.814. You could also get a bus. Contact me if
you'd like more help getting to the event.
Please: Let me know with your 'Will Attend' log if you
intend to eat, and if so, how many people (you know what I mean!)
and where- at the pub or the Tandoori. Thanks :)
Congratulations to Alan and Susan - LadySolly - who hit
20,000 on June the 2nd. Additional congratulations - they recently
became grandparents for the first time too!
