L’utilité des moulins de Sologne
:
Au moyen âge, les cours d’eau de Sologne sont jalonnés de
moulins à blé. Au XV° siècle la création de nombreux étangs
entraine la construction de nouveaux moulins sur les déversoirs. A
La Ferté Saint Aubin, vers 1820, on recense six moulins à vent et
trois à eau.
Le moulin de Chartraine fut construit vers 1880. Il a fonctionné
jusqu’à l’entre deux guerres.

The utility of the Mills in Sologne:
In the Middle Ages, the waterways are dotted with Sologne flour
mills. In the fifteenthcentury the creation of numerous ponds leads
to the construction of new mills on theweirs. In La Ferte Saint
Aubin, 1820, there are six windmills and three to watermills.
The mill Chartraine was built around 1880. It worked until the
interwar period.
