The cache is located within the grounds of the Sandringham Estate, freely accessable 24 hours a day, 365 days per year, with free parking, which can be found at N 52'49.887, E 000'30.415
Sandringham is the much-loved country retreat of Her Majesty The Queen, and has been the private home of four generations of British monarchs since 1862. The house, set in 24 hectares of stunning gardens, is perhaps the most famous stately home in Norfolk and is at the heart of the 8,000-hectare Sandringham Estate, 240 hectares of which make up the woodland and heath of the Country Park, open to the public free of charge every day of the year.
The Estate is a thriving mixed landscape, including the tidal mudflats of the Wash, woodland and wetland, arable, livestock and fruit farms, and commercial and residential properties; it is managed to a high standard and sustainably with the aims always of being financially self-sufficient and of providing a place of enjoyment not only for The Royal Family but also for the many thousands of visitors who come to see the House, Museum and Gardens or just to enjoy the Country Park.
The cache is a small sandwich box containing the usual goodies and a log.
The best way of approaching this cache would be to walk from the car park towards the adventure playground, then follow the yellow trail, down the steps past the bird hide, following round past the smuggler's cave on your right (careful here!) , then shortly afterwards, look out for the steps climbing up to your left. Phew you are almost there!
If you hang around the area by the bench at the top of the steps you may just pick up a signal from our Chirp wireless beacon as well!
