An ammo can on the Teatown-Kitchawan (TK) Trail near the Croton Reservoir.
We discovered (by accident) a new trail near Yorktown that connects the Teatown Reservation to the Kitchawan preserve. The trail passes through land near the Croton Reservoir that until recently was off limits -- land that bac has been anxious to explore. So, we had to check out the trail -- and put some caches along it of course.
The TK in the name is obvious. The "doh" is for discovering the trail by accident. The three together made Mac think of Tae Kwon Doh -- a sport that our son participates in.
This is cache #1 or "Hana" in Korean. The cache is less than a tenth of a mile from the road and is roughly 30' off the trail tucked next to an obvious feature of the local topography. The best access to this section of the TKD trail is from the road along the Croton Reservoir currently marked on Google maps as Croton Dam Rd / NYC Rd 4. The trail actually follows part of the road. The parking coordinates indicate where the trail leaves the road to head south.
There is an unactivated travel bug tag for FTF prize, but if you have an FTF on another of the TKD caches, please take only one TB tag and leave the others for the next finder(s).
