After living and working in Minneapolis for 35 years John
Cacherman has recently decided to retire. John has decided to
exercise some of his stock options and purchase two new cars. He
and his wife Mary have discussed it and have decided the first car
will be luxury sedan that she will drive and the second car will be
an exotic sports car that John will drive. John is from the old
school. He doesn't really get into the details of the trade in
value or the selling price. He will leave that to Arnie, his
salesperson pictured below. He looks over the car and determines
the value in his head.
Mary's car: Mary has been driving an economy class sedan for
many years now and is excited about getting her new car. She plans
on trading in her current vehicle on this new one. Her car is paid
for and she plans on keeping this one for a long time. Arnie their
salesperson gave them $15,800 as a trade in value. After some
negotiation with their Arnie they finally arrived at the amount
they will pay for everything. With all the new technology that
Arnie explained they also opted to buy the extended service
agreement for $1497 for Mary's car. After looking over the contract
John was a little surprised at the fees charged by the dealer.
Total amount for Mary's car came to $4,729,878. Now on to John's
Car
John's car: John has been driving around a large SUV but since
the kids are all married with their own children he also plans on
trading his car in on the new one. Mary and John explain to Arnie
that they still owe $24,564 and hope to have equity. Arnie assures
them that he would make it work. After looking at several Exotic
sports cars John finally finds the perfect one. Mary almost fainted
when she noticed the sticker price was over $10 million dollars.
Again Arnie assured them he would work with them and make it all
work. This negotiation took some time. Finally after a couple of
hours the deal was done. John was the proud owner of a beautiful
new Sports car. John knew three things. First the extended service
agreement was a lot more on this fancy race car. It cost $7,600.
Second, he had to write a check for $9,927,140 and finally that
Arnie gave him $33,475 for his old SUV.
John and Mary spent a lot of money at the Dealership today. In
actuality they spent a total of $14,657,018 including everything.
To find the cache you seek simply figure out what Arnie charged
Mary for her car. That will be the North Coordinates and what Arnie
charged John for his new Sports car, that will be the West.
