At the heart of the remains of the Abbey of Stavelot

L'abbaye de Stavelot est une très ancienne abbaye bénédictine fondée en 651 par St. Remacle.
Elle abrite actuellement trois musées :
* Le musée historique de la principauté de Stavelot-Malmedy.
* Le musée Guillaume Apollinaire.
* Le musée du circuit de Spa-Francorchamps.
Récemment mis au jour et rendus compréhensibles au profane, les vestiges de l'église abbatiale du XIème s. sont repris sur la liste des 159 biens du patrimoine exceptionnel de Wallonie -

The Abbey of Stavelot was founded ca 650 by Saint Remaclus.Three new and fascinating museums were inaugurated on 29 March 2002 :
* The Museum of the Principality of Stavelot-Malmedy
* The Spa-Francorchamps Racetrack Museum
* The Guillaume Apollinaire Museum. Recently brought to light and made understandable to the layman, the remains of the C11th abbey church are indicated on the list of the 159 properties of the outstanding heritage of Wallonia.
