Quand la mer recouvrait le Massif central, il y a des millions d'années, de la lave est sortie d'une fente pour former une coulée. Cette lave s'appelle la corne verte. Plus tard, la mer s'est retirée, et un mouvement de tectonique des plaques a surélevé cette « corne verte », aujourd'hui devenue le rocher Saint-Vincent.
Au Moyen Âge, on érigea le château de Pyramont au sommet du rocher. Il devint par la suite une dépendance du château de Montgilbert. De nos jours, le château de Pyramont est en ruine, et ne subsistent que quelques pierres. Une table d'orientation a été installée, et de nombreux touristes et habitants viennent se détendre ou se promener aux alentours du rocher.
Escalade : On a recensé près de 200 itinéraires dont la difficulté va de 2 à 8a, les hauteurs étant comprises entre 8 et 70 mètres
When the sea covered the Massif Central, there are millions of years, lava emerged from a slit to form a casting. This lava is called the green horn. Later, the sea receded, and a movement of tectonic plates that has raised "green horn" now become the rock St. Vincent.
In the Middle Ages, built the castle Pyramont up the rock. He later became a dependency of Castle Montgilbert. Nowadays, the castle is in ruins Pyramont, and remain only a few stones. An orientation table has been installed, and many tourists and locals come to relax or walk around the rock.
Climbing : There were nearly 200 routes including the difficulty ranges from 2 to 8a, the heights are between 8 and 70 meters.
