Branksome station is part of the South Western Main Line and is run by South Western Railway who operate from London Waterloo to Weymouth. Nice flat route to the cache. Stealth needed due to housing. Please make sure you have a pen with you as the logbook must be signed.
Branksome station wasn’t actually opened until the 1st June 1893; by this time the line had been running for some twenty years. Situated about one and a quarter miles from Bournemouth West on the way to Poole this almost suburban station formed one corner of what came to be known as the Branksome Triangle. If you were arriving from Bath, you would have passed through Branksome station and then branched off to the right for Bournemouth West or headed straight on towards Bournemouth Central.
