Geocache Description:

[LAT] Šmerlis ir 2.1 kvadratkilometru liels priežu mežs starp Alfu, Juglu un Mežciemu. Meža rietumu dala (kas agrak saukta par Baterijas mežu) atrodas Renemana privatklinika (dibinata ka tuberkulozes slimnica 1932. gada) un 1928. gada dibinata un nesen parbuveta Juglas sanatorijas internatpamatskola, ko agrak sauca par Meža skolu.

[ENG] Šmerlis pine forest covers 2.1 square kilometers lying between Alfa, Jugla and Mežciems. On the western side of the forest (earlier called Battery forest) two healthcare institutions are located. Meža skola (Forest school) was established in 1928 and now has become a boarding-school of Jugla sanatorium and the recently reconstructed buildings serve disabled children. In 1932 a sanatorium for tubercular patients was finished near-by but now the buildings are occupied by doctor’s Renemanis clinic.
