Starting in 2007 (?), the Saturday Night Fever “after the race” party has been hosted by San Antonio’s Anthony V in the fun form of a disco party. Unfortunately this year, “disco is dead”. Well it has at least taken a vacation. Anthony V will NOT be hosting the event this year. His choice…. Our loss.
Although it is impossible to create an event equivalent to Anthony V’s discos, it is equally impossible for the Texas Challenge participants to be without an event on Saturday night. Therefore we WILL have an event.
After the BBQ Dinner, we will meet to:
• TRADE coins
• MEET exciting singles in the area who are dying to get to know you
• SWAP travel bugs
• EXCHANGE shiny coin-thing shaped things that cannot be named
• RELAY stories about the day’s adventures
• DISCOVER relatives in Nigeria who work for a bank and can offer us exciting opportunities
• EXPLORE your navel with a new never-before-seen offer that you can’t refuse
and
• AUCTION off prizes including some of the Evil Hide containers.
As a part of the evening, I have commissioned several caching buddies to VIDEO the misadventures of their team-mates during the race. We will be viewing a screening of this video during this event.
This event AIN’T going to be fancy. We will be providing only the following: A logbook, travel bug master (Snoogans) and Video Monitors.
If you want anything else you will need to bring it yourself including: your own chairs, pens, travel bugs, Preparation-H, donuts, dead penguins, ROUS (Rodents of Unusual Size), oompa loompa tossing gear and micro-brewing equipment.
*******02-16-11 NEWS!!!! We finally have permission to play THUNDERDOME (2 men enter, 1 man leaves). If it is your luck to go up against MasterBlaster, you will NOT be allowed a whistle. On a further note, I have been asked to pass along that there are a few NIGHT CACHES in the area and that someone will be organizing a trip.
