Jonas Øglænd fra Sandnes grunnla i 1868 firmaet Jonas Øglænd AS som i 1932 lanserte sykkelmerket Den Beste Sykkel (DBS)
I 1892 ble Øglænd Cyklelager i Sandnes agent for tyske Hengstberg sykler. Noen år senere fikk Øglænd Cyklelager også agentur for amerikanske The World. I tillegg monterte han egne sykler under merkene Fram og Viking. Øglænd bygget stadig ut virksomheten, og i 1932 ble navnet Den Beste Sykkel (DBS) introdusert. Det var den 12 år gamle Knut Johansen som foreslo navnet og ble vinner av navnekonkurransen.
Bygningen cachen er plassert ved ble bygget i 1933 og det ble produsert sykler her frem til den nye sykkelfabrikken på Kvål stod ferdig i 1972. På midten av 90 tallet ble Øglænd DBS oppkjøpt av Cycleurope og sykkelprodusjonen i Sandnes ble nedlagt.

Jonas Øglænd from Sandnes founded the company Jonas Øglænd AS. In 1932 the company launched the bicycle brand DBS (The Best Bike).
In 1892 became Øglænd Cyklelager in Sandnes agent for the German bicycle company Hengstberg bicycles. Some years later Øglænd Cyklelager also became agent for the American bicycle company “The World”. In addition Øglænd also mounted and sold cycles under the brands “Fram” and “Viking”. The company grew and in 1932 Øglænd launched the brand “DBS”, the name came from a name contest where the winner Knut Johansen (12 years old) came up with the name “DBS”.
The building the cache is placed by was built in 1933 and there was cycle production here until 1972 when the “new” factory was opened just outside of Sandnes. In the mid 90’s Øglænd DBS was purchased of Cycleurope and the cycle production in Sandnes terminated.
