General information:
Sa Nang Manora Forest Park is located 6 kms north of town. The signs on the road are clear and it can not be missed. Turn right at the High Way police station which is north of Phangnga Town.
There is a parking area and here you can get some food & drinks. If you want to ride a bicycle you can rent bikes at ‘Manora Garden’ on the way to tje park. You can also walk from this place through the fields towards the waterfall.
Till today there is no entrance fee at this Forest Park! (But we do not know for how much longer)
Manora, the legend:
Manora is the name of a ‘bird woman’ and she is one of the seven daughters of a king. She was the most beautiful daughter. On a nice day, while she was taking a bath with her sisters, she was captured and brought to a prince, living in a far away country. She was forced to be the wife of the prince… Luckily the prince was a good man, but the most important advisor of the king not: One advice he gave was that she had to be killed because she would bring bad times for the country in the near future. She could escape and at the same lake were she was kidnapped years ago she left a message for the prince with hermit who was till living there: ’If you really love me, you will find me…’ And.. Scenic area:
It is a good place to relax and have some ‘nature fun’. In the lower parts the waterfall flows left and right and there are some tables with benches for a picnic or to relax. The water is full of beautiful fishes, especially when you walk a bit higher up.
You will see a signboard with information about the Nature Trail at the beginning, near the parking. This is NOT the start of the trail yet!!! The head of this trail can be found at the END of the lower parts!!
The cache however can be found in the lower area, near the 'inform ation'. This cache is easy to find and can be picked up quickly!
Extra waypoints:
In the ‘waypoints’ are two places that can easily visited for a swim. They are a bit further uphill, Also the head of trail will be given as a waypoint, so you can measure how far it is and if you want to go for more fun in the higher area!
Two parking lots are given: one near the waterfall and one near Manora Garden (for start a short cycling tour, or your walk up to the waterfall)
