Brno - Bratislava
Diaľnica D2 je slovenská diaľnica, ktorá spája hranicný priechod Brodské na hranici Slovenska s Českom a hraničným priechodom Čunovo na hranici Slovenska s Maďarskom, prechádza cez Kúty, Malacky a Bratislavu. Na mimoúrovňovej križovatke Bratislava - Pečňa sa napája na D1. Diaľnica D2 je dokončená na celej dlžke v plnom profile. Aktuálne je dokončovaná križovatka Stupava - juh s D4 a v pláne je výjazd v Čunove.
Celková dlžka diaľnice je 80 km a v súčasnej dobe je to jediná kompletne dokončená diaľnica u nás. Výstavba prebehla v rokoch 1969 - 2007 (vrátane tunela Sitina).
Diaľnica je dôležitou spojnicou medzi Bratislavou a Brnou. Je súčasťou IV. paneurópskeho koridoru Berlín - Praha - Bratislava - Budapešť - Thesaloniki - Istambul.
Výstavba diaľnice bola schválená uznesením vlády z 10. apríla 1963 č. 286 na trase Brno - Bratislava s dlžkou 116 km, z toho na Slovensku 58,4 km. Vládnym uznesením č. 24 z 29. januára 1987 bola diaľnica predlžená o úsek Bratislava - štátna hranica ČSSR/Maďarsko s dlžkou 15,5 km.
Prvý úsek D2 Bratislava - Malacky sa začal stavať 1. 4. 1969. Výstvba bola dokončená v roku 1973. Potom bol uvedený do prevádzky úsek Malacky - Kúty, ktorého výstavba prebiehala v rokoch 1973 - 1978. Zároveň sa stavala diaľnica aj od Brna a k sprevádzkovaniu došlo 8. novembra 1980.
Výstavba potom pokračovala v rokoch 1985 - 1991 stavbou úseku Bratislava, Staré Grunty - Viedenská cesta, kde bol hlavnou stavbou most Lafranconi.
K ďalšej výstavbe došlo až po rozpade Československa. Bol vybudovaný úsek D2/D61 (Bratislava, Viedenská cesta - štátna hranica SR/Maďarsko), ktorého súčasťou bola aj odbočka k rakúskym hraniciam. Stavba prebiehala v rokoch 1996 - 2000.
Posledným dobudovaným úsekom diaľnice bola stavba Bratislava, Lamačská cesta - Staré Grunty, ktorá pomocou tunela prepojila vybudované úseky

D2 is a motorway (Slovak: diaľnica) in Slovakia. It connects the Czech border at Kúty with the Hungarian border at Čunovo, passing through (ordered north to south) Malacky, Bratislava and Jarovce. It is part of the European routes E65 and E75 and of the Pan-European corridor IV. The length of the motorway is 80 km.
The first plans on D2 motorway/freeway appeared in the 1960s, from the Czechoslovak government act in 1963 to build 117 km long motorway from Brno to Bratislava, with 58.4 km in today's Slovakia. The construction started on April 1969, with the first section from Bratislava to Malacky, which was open on November 1973. In 1974, construction also started on the Czech side from Brno, with the two ends of the motorways joining on 8 November 1980, a day, when also the D1 motorway in the Czech part of Czechoslovakia was completed, joining the three most important cities in the country (Prague, Brno and Bratislava). A new planned segment from Bratislava to the Hungarian border was added in 1987. Construction continued with the building of the Lafranconi Bridge in Bratislava and the junction with D1 motorway junction and temporary end in Petržalka in the years 1985 - 1991 and after its opening, construction stopped for five years. It continues further since 1996, with the sections from temporary end to Hungary and Austria, with all being opened in 1998 and with the 8.5 km segment from D4 junction to the Hungarian border being widened in 2002. Today, the motorway is complete, with the last 3 km in Bratislava with the only tunnel in its entire length, the Sitina Tunnel opened on 24 June 2007.
